On May 16th, opening day, our Gallery featured some of the original works of
world renowned portrait artist and writer Marcos Blahove - including the original
oil painting, 'The Girl in the Blue Chair' (1967) from the private collection of the Carter Family.
Gayle Carter Wagner (the actual girl in the blue chair) hosted a lecture regarding her childhood experiences with the artist. A book signing of Blahove's book, Painting Children in Oil followed (limited copies are still available at the Guild).
