     Francesca LoPresti is a resident of Southold.  Her early interests in art began in Houston, Texas.  She attended tole painting and folk art classes taught by Laura Rupley.  She studied further by taking courses in early American history at the University of  Houston.

     Francesca taught folk art in Ponderosa Forest, Houston in her own studio.  She returned to Long Island in 1974 and continued teaching both in oils and acrylic paints on tin, wood and canvas.  In 1976 she moved to Southold and taught in her home studio.  She has been a member of Gallery North in Stony Brook, a member of East End Arts & Humanities Council, and as of 1976, a member of The Old Town Art & Crafts Guild.  She served as President of the Guild from 1990 to 1991.  She is currently giving folk art and country painting lessons for the Riverhead Recreation Department in Jamesport.  Her paintings have been displayed locally.
